Agricert took part in the 2026 edition of Feira de Garvão, held as part of the 30th Livestock Exhibition of Ourique, an initiative that once again reinforced its position as one of the leading events dedicated to the agri-food and livestock sectors in southern Portugal.

Agricert’s participation took place within the conference “Reflections on the Alentejano Pork Market — From the Montado to the World: International Conference on Alentejano Meat”, held on 9 May, in a session focused on the challenges and future trends affecting the Alentejano Pork sector.

At a time when markets are increasingly demanding evidence related to traceability, sustainability, animal welfare and product origin, the session promoted a technical discussion on the role of inspection, verification and certification systems in strengthening the credibility and differentiation of the sector.

Over the course of three days, Feira de Garvão — organised by the Municipality of Ourique, the Alentejano Pig Breeders Association and the Parish Council of Garvão — brought together producers, breeders, technicians, economic stakeholders and visitors, reinforcing its role as a platform for the promotion of livestock production, native breeds and rural heritage.

Agricert thanks the organisers for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to a discussion of strategic relevance for the future of the Portuguese livestock sector.
