Policy and Impartiality

The policies and procedures governing Agricert’s operations and management are not discriminatory and are not applied in a discriminatory manner. At no level of the organisation are these procedures used to prevent or restrict access by applicants, except in the cases provided for under ISO/IEC 17065. Agricert ensures that its services are accessible to all applicants whose activities fall within the scope of competence declared by Agricert.

Impartiality
At all levels of its organisation and operations, AGRICERT ensures the absence of conflicts of interest and full impartiality. To this end, all control technicians and members of commissions or subcommissions, as well as shareholders, directors, auditors and subcontractors, formally undertake to:

  • Maintain the independence of judgement required to perform their duties with impartiality and integrity, without being involved in the design, supply, manufacture, installation, site supervision, technical assistance, maintenance of the items to be controlled, or similar activities carried out by competitors;
  • Report any situations that may potentially give rise to a conflict of interest or lack of impartiality, particularly those arising from any previous or existing relationship with clients, so that appropriate measures can be taken to prevent such conflicts and partiality

Regulation

AGRICERT’s main activities are training, inspection, and the control and certification of products and management systems. To support these activities, AGRICERT relies on a technical team with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for this work.

AGRICERT is recognised as a Control Body by the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, as an Inspection Body by the Junta de Extremadura, and is also directly recognised by the European Commission in the field of organic production in third countries.
