This intervention promotes the replacement of synthetic fertilisers with organic fertilisers, with the aim of improving soil fertility and reducing emissions associated with agricultural activity.

It falls under Article 31 of Regulation (EU) 2021/2115. The intervention aims to reduce N2O emissions, increase soil organic matter content, strengthen carbon sequestration and water retention capacity, and promote good practices for the incorporation of effluents in order to reduce NH3 emissions.

How to apply

To apply, the operator must follow these steps:

1. Request the application form by email at agricert@agricert.pt;

2. Once the completed form has been received, Agricert sends the corresponding quotation;

3. Confirm acceptance of the quotation to the Certification Body;

4. Sign a contract between the Certification Body and the operator;

5. Proceed with the scheduling of the control activity;

6. Undergo annual follow-up controls, sampling of products/production inputs, and random controls, with or without prior notice;

7. Issue or renew the certificate.
