LEAF Marque is a UK certification scheme that promotes more sustainable farming practices in food production.

It is based on the principles of Integrated Farm Management (IFM), a whole-farm approach that combines modern technology with traditional methods to support more sustainable agriculture, protect the environment and biodiversity, and strengthen links with local communities. This model values continuous improvement and adapts to the specific characteristics of each farm.

The principles of IFM apply across different areas of agricultural activity, including farm organisation and planning, soil fertility management, crop health and protection, pollution and by-product control, livestock management, energy efficiency, water management, landscape and nature conservation, and community engagement.

Agricert is qualified by LEAF Marque, allowing certified producers to display the logo on their products.

How to apply

To apply for this certification scheme, the operator must follow these steps:

1. Request the application form by email at agricert@agricert.pt;
2. Once the completed application form has been submitted, Agricert will issue the quotation;
3. Confirm acceptance of the quotation with the Certification Body;
4. Sign a contract between the Certification Body and the operator.
