The IFS Food Standard is a GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognised standard for auditing food manufacturers.

It focuses on food safety and the quality of processes and products, and applies to food processing companies as well as businesses carrying out primary packing of bulk food products. IFS Food applies when products are processed or when there is a risk of contamination during the primary packing stage.

It is particularly relevant for food manufacturers producing private label products, as it includes a wide range of requirements linked to compliance with customer specifications.
