The “IBAW Animal Welfare” certification enables consumers to identify products obtained in line with best practices in animal production in terms of animal welfare, health, biosecurity, animal handling and traceability, as established by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and EU regulations. It is a certification mark that guarantees animal welfare standards that are even more demanding than those laid down in European and national regulations, while conveying the sector’s commitment to quality and transparency.

The Interprofessional Association of Iberian Pig (ASICI) is the entity recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as an Interprofessional Agri-Food Organisation, under Law 38/1994 regulating Interprofessional Agri-Food Organisations.

Agricert, Lda is authorised by ASICI to carry out IBAW certification in the field of livestock activities.

How to apply
To apply, the operator must follow these steps:

1. Request the application form by email at agricert@agricert.pt;

2. After the completed document has been submitted, Agricert sends the corresponding quotation;

3. Confirm acceptance of the quotation to the Certification Body;

4. Sign a contract between the Certification Body and the operator.
