The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an international standard for the processing of textiles made with organic fibres, with environmental criteria and third-party certification across the different stages of production.

From the harvesting of raw materials to manufacturing and labelling, GOTS sets internationally recognised requirements for organic textiles. The standard applies to a wide range of textile products, including yarns, fabrics, clothing, home textiles and other finished goods, providing a credible basis for market communication.

How to apply

To apply for this certification, the operator must follow these steps:

1. Request the application form by email at agricert@agricert.pt;

2. After the completed document has been submitted, Agricert sends the corresponding quotation;

3. Confirm acceptance of the quotation to the Certification Body;

4. Sign a contract between the Certification Body and the operator.
