Welfair Quality® certification is a scheme for assessing and monitoring animal welfare on livestock farms and in slaughterhouses.

It is based on the Welfair Quality and AWIN® reference frameworks and applies to cattle, pigs and sheep, as well as hens, broilers, rabbits, turkeys and quails. The certification evaluates animal welfare on farms, in rearing areas and in slaughterhouses, in line with the criteria set out in these standards.

How to apply
To apply for this certification, the operator must follow these steps:

1. Request the application form by email at agricert@agricert.pt;

2. Once the completed form has been received, Agricert sends the corresponding quotation;

3. Confirm acceptance of the quotation to the Certification Body;

4. Sign a contract between the Certification Body and the operator.
